Summer of Disruption to Egilsay Sailings
Egilsay is facing over a month of disruption to its sailings during the summer.
Repairs to the ramp at Egilsay Ferry Terminal are scheduled to begin in July, when the M.V.
Eynhallow will start using a temporary ramp. When tide levels are too low, the ferry will be
unable to berth on the temporary ramp, resulting in a 'Passenger Only' service at these
times. The first sailing to be affected is anticipated to be on Thursday 22 July 2010, when
the 1335 Egilsay departure will be a Passenger Only service. All expected affected sailings
are listed further below, although weather conditions may affect further sailings.
Repairs to the ramp at Tingwall are underway, and are due for completion in June, while
Wyre's ramp is currently being widen. Repairs to the ramp at Rousay are also expected
to start at a later date.
