Raft Race winners
The 2009 Rousay Raft Race Winners (pictured above) were: Angus, Shane, Andrew, and Erik Flaws,
Gordie Budge, and Jock Bodman.
In the highly-anticipated annual race, held today, Saturday, particpants must get their
rafts from Rousay Pier to Wyre Pier and back again. Six rafts started the race, with only
three reaching the finish line.
Last year's winners, 'Orkney Fairies', came second with their tiger raft, named
'Pintland Furries'. Third place went to 'Joggy Bottoms'.
The Watersports and Regatta was a great success, with over £1,000 raised for the RNLI.
The hot weather helped to make it a fantastic event, enjoyed by many spectators.
There were many activities and competitions, with results of some as follows:
