RNLI fundraisers get 2009 off to good start

Rousay fundraisers for the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboats Institution), got 2009 off to a fantastic start, with three events raising nearly £500.

The Curry Night, held at the end of December brought in £240, while January's 'Scones On Sunday' event (part of the RNLI's annual fundraising 'SOS' day) raised £180.

Finally, Whist Drive, held on 13 February, managed a total of £61. The event, initially scheduled for 7 February, had to be postponed, as snow swept across Britain.

The next R.N.L.I. event is Call My Bluff, and is due to be held on Friday 6 March, at 8pm, at the school. And the fundraising doesn't stop there, with a Treasure Hunt, Fish and Chip Night, Easter Egg Hunt, and Easter Bonnet Parade, all planned before the annual Watersports Day in the summer.
