Public Bus Service launches new fare structure

Rousay's public bus service has launched a new fare structure, just 6 months after the service first began.

The service, which operates every Thursday, started in January 2010, with fares previously priced per mile, however, a simplified, 'zonal' fare structure has been developed, coinciding with the introduction of a new ticketing machine.

The ticketing machines are being launched simultaneously by several public transport operators throughout Orkney.

Adult Single Fares still start from as little as 70p, with Adult Return Fares from just £1.35.

Both the new ticketing machine and fare structure will go live today, Thursday.
