Weather disruptions on Rousay

Adverse weather conditions are affecting Rousay today, Friday.
There will be no post delivered on the island, while Orkney Ferries has announced that the last sailing from Rousay will depart at 1410, leaving Tingwall at 1445, with all other
sailings scheduled for today now cancelled.
All schools in Orkney are closed today, including Rousay Community School.
Road conditions are treacherous, with local police advising against non-urgent travel across Orkney. Stagecoach are currently running no public transport on the mainland of Orkney,
with all flights to and from Kirkwall Airport cancelled today.
The Met Office is predicting the snow showers to continue in Orkney throughout Friday, with further snow showers forecast over the weekend.
As a result, the RNLI Family Christmas Party due to be held on Sunday 19 December, has now been cancelled.
