Repairs to hard ramp to begin at Tingwall
Repair work to the hard ramp at Tingwall is due to begin later next month, with some
disruption to Orkney Ferries' sailings expected for the six weeks duration.
Scheduled to commence on Monday 12th April 2010, construction is anticipated to
be completed by Wednesday 2nd June 2010.
A temporary hard ramp is currently being constructed, however, on occasions when the tide is
low, the M.V. Eynhallow will not be able to berth on the temporary ramp, resulting in a
'Passenger Only' service operating from Tingwall at these times.
A list of affected sailings will be available to view on AroundRousay.co.uk nearer to the
time.
Repairs and alterations to the ramp at Wyre Ferry Terminal were started recently, with
construction on the ramps at Egilsay and Rousay due to start at a later date.
