Funding for Development Trust Office
Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre Development Trust has been awarded £8,693 to set up an office facility for a 'drop-in' service.
The funding was granted yesterday, Tuesday via the Big Lottery Fund's 'Awards for All' initiative, and enables the Development Trust to set up a drop-in service for members of the
community, at its new Company Office, within The Manse, on Rousay, which the Trust has recently occupied.
The funding will cover a number of equipment purchases, including: chairs; cupboards; desks; drawer pedestals; extension leads; filing cabinets; folding chairs and tables;
office stationery; surge protectors; and telephones.
'Awards for All' has provided funds for a small number of projects on the islands of Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre. Most recently, in April 2010, Rousay Primary School was awarded a
total of £3,031 to help fund transportation costs for children taking part in sports or music activities on the Mainland of Orkney, while Rousay Gun Club was on the same day
awarded £9,700 for new equipment and safety training.
