Council announces Bulk Domestic Items Collection Dates
Orkney Islands Council has provided a list of Bulk Domestic Items Collection Dates for
2010-2011.
Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre can book the collection of bulky items for the following dates:
18 May 2010; 27 July 2010; 12 October 2010; 14 December 2010; and 8 March 2011.
All of the dates fall on a Tuesday.
The service enables the collection of bulky items from domestic properties, by telephoning
Orkney Islands Council on 01856 873535. Users are reminded that a verbal request to the
local Refuse Collector is not sufficient for this service. Item details must be
specified in advance to the Council, with payment made prior to the uplifting.
The collection of up to 5 items costs £11.50 (plus VAT@17.5%), while the uplifting of 6 items
or more (up to a full pick-up load) is set at £50.00 (excluding VAT). A Lorry Load will
incur a charge of £101.00 (plus VAT).
